hand knotted
Commonly referred to as Oriental Rugs, Hand knotted rugs are made by tying or knotting pile yarns around woven back fibers (warp or weft). The resulting face of the rug is then sheared to pre-determined height to give the pile uniformity and softness. The more knots per square foot, the more valuable the rug.
